Base Salary
$105k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable distributed services, APIs, developer tools, and user-facing experiences for OCI engineering teams.
- Own major platform components across requirements, architecture, implementation, automated testing, safe rollout, and production support.
- Partner with engineering teams to identify developer pain points and create reusable platform capabilities for development, CI/CD, and operations.
- Prototype solutions, evaluate tradeoffs, debug systems, and tune performance.
- Develop reusable patterns for testing, observability, security, reliability, and operational readiness.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical direction through design reviews, code reviews, and documentation.
- Operate production services, participate in on-call and incident response, and improve automation, runbooks, and incident prevention.
- Apply AI-assisted and agentic techniques across implementation, testing, code review, debugging, documentation, operations, and software maintenance.
- Build and evaluate AI-enabled developer tools and workflows while validating generated code, tests, designs, and analysis.
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 to 10+ years of professional software development experience.
- Proficiency in Java and experience building REST and/or gRPC services.
- Experience building full-stack software, including backend services and user-facing tools or web applications.
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems.
- Experience designing, building, and operating highly available, scalable distributed systems.
- Experience with distributed databases and SQL and/or NoSQL data stores.
- Experience delivering large-scale services through implementation, safe deployment, and production operation.
- Experience with production observability, operational automation, incident response, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Ability to provide hands-on technical leadership, mentor engineers, and improve engineering practices through design and code reviews.
- Practical experience applying AI-assisted development techniques and validating generated code, tests, designs, or analysis.
- Preferred experience includes developer platforms, developer tooling, CI/CD systems, engineering productivity, AI-enabled developer tools, coding agents, public cloud services, Kubernetes, containers, Terraform, multi-tenant services, capacity planning, caching, throttling, and performance isolation.
