Responsibilities
- Work with engineers, scientists, and project managers on aerospace and defense software projects.
- Conduct technology research, trade studies, and comparative analysis.
- Assist with the design and testing of prototype and production systems using open-source, custom, and proprietary software packages.
- Use configuration management tools to document and iterate on software under development.
- Conduct field testing and evaluation of components, systems, and products.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
- Have foundational knowledge of Python, C++, or Java, along with data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Have familiarity with Visual Studio, Git, Eclipse, or similar development environments.
- Demonstrate problem-solving, analytical, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to work independently and collaboratively.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is required, with preference for students at the junior level or above.
- Preferred qualifications include frontend or backend development, REST APIs, web frameworks, DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing, Docker, unit testing, debugging, GitHub, GitLab, object-oriented programming, software test design, software integration, Excel, MATLAB, and extracurricular engineering competitions.
- Must qualify as a U.S. person or be eligible for an export license under ITAR/EAR requirements; some positions require current U.S. citizenship.
