Senior Solutions Engineer – UK Public Sector

Responsibilities

Act as the primary technical contact between public sector clients and SAS, translating business needs into value-generating SAS software, cloud, and services solutions.
Define and execute technical strategies and engagement plans in partnership with account executives and wider engagement teams.
Provide technical and pre-sales leadership for new business opportunities and lead multidisciplinary pursuit teams.
Handle complex customer situations using knowledge of industry standards, SAS solutions, and customer technology landscapes.
Deliver presentations, discussions, demonstrations, proofs of concept, pilots, workshops, and customised demonstrations.
Facilitate discovery and requirements gathering, adapt technical material for different audiences, and address objections through influencing and negotiation.

UK Security Clearance due to current or previous work across UK government.
At least 3 years of experience in a similar technology-industry pre-sales role.
Broad technical knowledge, enterprise architecture understanding, architecture standards knowledge, and cloud-platform experience.
Experience or knowledge in data management, AI, analytics, fraud detection, and intelligence, plus enthusiasm for applying AI to public-sector challenges.
Hands-on experience with SAS technology, including the SAS Viya Platform, SAS Studio, VA, and VI, or similar technology.
Experience delivering proofs of concept, pilots, and customised demonstrations, particularly in fraud and investigations.
Strong presentation, storytelling, workshop facilitation, discovery, requirements gathering, problem-solving, organisation, prioritisation, and project leadership skills.
Willingness to travel to customer sites and work hands-on in customer-facing situations.
