Responsibilities

  • Advise UK public-sector clients on creating business value through data, AI, analytics, and SAS solutions.
  • Act as the primary technical contact between clients and SAS, translating business needs into solutions based on SAS products, software, cloud, and associated services.
  • Define and execute technical strategies and own technical engagement plans in partnership with account executives and wider engagement teams.
  • Provide technical and pre-sales leadership for new business opportunities and build or lead multidisciplinary pursuit teams.
  • Manage complex customer situations using industry standards, SAS solutions, and knowledge of customer technology landscapes.
  • Deliver customer presentations, discussions, software demonstrations, workshops, and proofs of concept.
  • Translate business and technology requirements into compelling SAS solutions and facilitate discovery and requirements gathering.
  • Use storytelling, influencing, negotiation, and objection-handling skills with technical, business, and executive audiences.
  • Travel to customer sites as required and provide hands-on customer-facing support.

Requirements

  • UK Security Clearance in place due to current or previous work across UK government.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar technology-industry pre-sales role.
  • Broad technical knowledge, including enterprise architecture, architecture standards, and cloud platforms.
  • Experience or knowledge in data management, AI, analytics, fraud detection, and intelligence, with a passion for applying AI to public-sector challenges.
  • Practical hands-on skills with SAS technology, including the SAS Viya Platform, SAS Studio, VA, and VI, or similar technology.
  • Previous experience working within the UK public sector.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops, gather requirements, deliver software demonstrations, and work directly with customers.
  • Strong presentation, written communication, storytelling, workshop facilitation, creative problem-solving, organisation, prioritisation, and project leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
