Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services for SumUp’s lending platform using Go.
- Improve observability and monitoring to measure system health and detect issues before incidents.
- Write integration tests to protect service reliability across releases.
- Adapt the platform to new regulatory requirements in expanding markets.
- Explore and implement new loan repayment flows.
- Investigate production incidents and balance immediate fixes with long-term platform stability.
Requirements
- Strong backend development knowledge with a focus on code quality and performance.
- Experience evaluating existing systems and proposing practical improvements.
- Comfort using observability and monitoring tools to understand system behavior and define meaningful metrics.
- A track record of using integration tests to validate service reliability.
- Ability to balance deadlines and quality when building or evolving production systems and clearly explain those trade-offs.
