Base Salary
$170k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and scale backend services powering Parker’s financial products and APIs.
- Lead architectural decisions supporting system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Build and maintain services in a cloud-native environment using Node.js, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
- Partner with Product and Infrastructure teams to design secure APIs and data models.
- Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, technical mentorship, and architectural guidance.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and lead improvements to reliability, observability, and system design.
- Contribute to Parker’s technical roadmap and long-term engineering vision.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
- Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems in production.
- Strong proficiency with Node.js and TypeScript, or comparable backend languages such as Go, Java, or Python.
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with GraphQL, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architectures.
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure using AWS or GCP and CI/CD pipelines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Experience in fintech, payments, or e-commerce infrastructure is preferred.
- Background in credit systems, ledgering, or transactional data modeling is preferred.
- Contributions to or interest in open source software are preferred.
- Experience in high-growth startup environments is preferred.
