Responsibilities
- Own complex resilience engineering work across priority services.
- Design, conduct, and report on controlled chaos experiments and game days.
- Establish repeatable chaos testing patterns and define reliability and resilience standards.
- Translate incidents, SLO misses, failure modes, and experiment findings into engineering improvements.
- Provide architecture and system-design guidance for resilient application services.
- Create technical design documents, experiment plans, standards, post-experiment reports, and improvement proposals.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, technical guidance, and hands-on support.
- Deliver resilience standards, experiment templates, production readiness criteria, pilot experiments, remediation backlogs, and measurable service improvements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 2+ years with an advanced degree, 0 years with a PhD, or 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, and Terraform.
- Experience automating complex tasks and processes with Python, Go, and Java.
- Experience planning and performing chaos experiments with Gremlin, Chaos Toolkit, Litmus, or equivalent tools.
- Preferred: 6+ years with a Bachelor’s degree, 4+ years with an advanced degree, or up to 3 years with a PhD.
- Preferred: experience with distributed systems, hybrid cloud and system architecture, observability, performance optimization, software development, Agile teams, and fast-paced 24x7 environments.
