Responsibilities
- Contribute Android expertise to the Android guild and help ensure technical excellence.
- Build, ship, and operate large-scale Android applications and libraries.
- Own product development by collaborating with cross-functional roles and ensuring quality and delivery.
- Optimize Android builds, multi-module setups, and release processes.
- Improve crash-free performance, reduce ANRs, and use performance tooling to diagnose issues.
- Debug rendering, networking, storage, and threading issues across application layers.
- Mentor other engineers and contribute to a dynamic, goal-driven development environment.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building Android applications or libraries with Kotlin and some Java interoperability.
- Deep expertise with Gradle and Android Gradle Plugin, including build optimization, multi-module setups, and version catalogs.
- Strong understanding of Android architecture, including Clean Architecture, MVI, and MVVM.
- Experience with dependency injection using Hilt or Dagger and asynchronous programming with coroutines and Flows.
- Experience shipping and operating large-scale applications, including crash-free goals, ANR reduction, and performance tooling such as Systrace and Perfetto.
- Fluency with CI/CD practices, test pyramids, emulator or device farms, release tracks, and feature flags.
- Strong debugging skills across rendering, networking, storage, and threading.
- Excellent communication and cross-team influence.
