Responsibilities
- Develop and evolve the Terma SPECTRA software-defined radio modem and platform for satellite communications and ground-station applications.
- Design and implement SATCOM and 5G-NTN algorithms, waveforms, and coding schemes, including OFDM, spread-spectrum techniques, ranging, and interferometry.
- Drive product architecture and technical design while investigating emerging RF communications, sensor, and signal-analysis technologies.
- Deliver software across requirements engineering, architecture, implementation, unit testing, integration testing, system verification, maintenance, and operational support.
- Collaborate across software, DSP, FPGA/CPU architectures, and RF hardware, including contributions to RF test systems and RF-SCOE.
- Support proposals, business development, innovation initiatives, and R&D activities.
- Act as a technical interface for customers and stakeholders during ground-station development, integration, and operation, while producing technical documentation.
Requirements
- Degree in Software Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline, combined with relevant professional experience.
- Advanced programming skills in C, solid proficiency in C++ and Python, and hands-on GNU/Linux development experience.
- Professional expertise in satellite communications, digital signal processing, software-defined radio, and digital communications.
- Experience with requirements-driven development, software lifecycle management, test-driven development, integration testing, and system validation.
- Systems-level understanding across software, DSP, FPGA, and RF domains, including relevant communications technologies or standards.
- Professional fluency in written and spoken English; German is advantageous but not required.
- Analytical, curious, proactive, structured, and collaborative approach to technical challenges and stakeholder communication.
