Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, integrate, and maintain bare-metal and embedded RTOS firmware for wearable and handheld devices.
- Perform hardware device bring-up, MCU SDK integration, and ASIC device driver development.
- Develop firmware for low-power systems involving power management, signal processing, BLE/Wi-Fi connectivity, memory allocation, and complex algorithms.
- Create and maintain software requirements and develop test use cases from those requirements.
- Support product behavior investigations, interoperability triage, and cross-functional technical issue resolution.
- Collaborate with Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, V&V, and software development teams across the product development lifecycle.
- Contribute to firmware development frameworks, build tools, branching strategies, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Deliver technology and product development work on time, within budget, and with high-quality results.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, typically electrical engineering or computer science, and 5–8 years of related experience; alternatively, a master’s degree with 2–5 years of equivalent industry experience or a PhD with 0–2 years of experience.
- 5+ years of bare-metal C/C++ programming for embedded ARM microcontrollers, including Make and GCC cross-compilers, for the bachelor’s-degree path.
- Hands-on experience with embedded systems, firmware development lifecycles, hardware bring-up, MCU SDK integration, and ASIC device drivers.
- Experience with power management, signal processing, BLE/Wi-Fi connectivity, memory allocation, and complex algorithms.
- Experience with software development tools such as Jira, GitHub, and Make.
- Experience creating and maintaining software requirements and developing test use cases.
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline frameworks, Scrum or Kanban practices, branching strategies, and current development tools.
- Ability to collaborate across organizational functions and support high-reliability product development.
