Base Salary
$193k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and architecture of large customer-facing Amazon Quick features across user experiences, distributed services, and cloud infrastructure.
- Partner with product managers and senior leaders to define initiatives and turn ambiguous problems into technical plans and milestones.
- Design highly available, scalable, and secure distributed systems on AWS while balancing speed, cost, and quality.
- Drive design reviews, code reviews, testing, operational excellence, documentation, and other engineering best practices.
- Own system operational health and lead investigations into complex production issues.
- Use generative AI tools and help improve the quality and reliability of AI-powered features.
- Mentor engineers and help develop future technical leaders.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 5 years of programming experience with at least one software programming language.
- At least 5 years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Preferred: at least 5 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
