Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and operationally support flight software for critical spaceflight systems.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers and subsystem teams on hardware/software integration, design trades, and integrated testing.
- Debug embedded systems using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other signal measurement tools.
- Perform software performance analysis and verification for integrated hardware/software systems.
- Conduct hardware-in-the-loop testing and validate embedded-system behavior in laboratory and test environments.
- Contribute to risk identification, fault analysis, mitigation, Agile planning, integration, verification, milestones, and program reviews.
- Support system-level integration and troubleshooting across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Technology, or Math from an accredited school.
- Five years of related software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in object-oriented programming, including C or C++.
- Experience with firmware, embedded software, hardware/software integration, serial and packet-based communication protocols, and Git-based platforms.
- Hands-on embedded-system debugging experience using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Ability to collaborate independently across cross-disciplinary engineering teams, with strong communication, coordination, and presentation skills.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
- Preferred qualifications include human spaceflight or exploration experience, embedded software frameworks, device-driver development, SpaceWire, logging and diagnostics architectures, xUnit, Windows, POSIX-based systems, Docker, Agile/Scrum, CMMI frameworks, and a STEM master’s degree.
