Base Salary
$140k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead the migration of Fable recommendations onto Orion across data, features, training, serving, and experiments while maintaining the existing system.
- Extend rankers, the feature store, and embedding-based retrieval to support Fable in partnership with the Orion ML platform team.
- Own production recommendation-system quality, latency, cost, and on-call operations.
- Incorporate Fable social signals into recommendations for Fable and Everand.
- Design and analyze online A/B tests with product managers and analysts.
- Act as technical lead for Premium recommendations, shape the roadmap, and drive cross-team delivery.
- Improve engineering practices through design reviews, code quality, and operational readiness.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional machine learning or software engineering experience with a record of shipping production ML systems.
- Hands-on production recommender-system experience, including collaborative filtering or matrix factorization, two-tower or embedding retrieval, and learned ranking.
- Experience with large-scale data processing using Spark, Databricks, BigQuery, or similar technologies.
- Experience with AWS or GCP, including deploying containerized services using Kubernetes, ECS, or similar platforms.
- Experience designing and analyzing online experiments.
- Experience leading projects dependent on other teams and working directly with product managers.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, or equivalent professional experience.
- Preferred qualifications include Google Cloud, Vertex AI, BigQuery, production ML-system migration, social or graph-based recommendations, search and semantic retrieval, and consumer reading, media, or social-app experience.
