Responsibilities

  • Develop scientific software and hardware-control interfaces for IonQ teams.
  • Design and implement web-based tooling, including information-dense dashboards, system telemetry, and calibration tools.
  • Build interfaces capable of managing complex state and streaming, data-intensive application environments.
  • Create interactive charts and tools for large datasets and frequent data updates.
  • Diagnose rendering bottlenecks and evaluate virtualization, SVG, Canvas, and WebGL trade-offs.
  • Gather requirements from users across diverse technical and cross-functional backgrounds.
  • Apply strict testing discipline and contribute to stronger engineering processes and best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with backend engineers and the wider Quantum Tools software team.

Requirements

  • Prior front-end development experience with TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and React.
  • Deep experience with a modern framework such as React, Vue, Svelte, or Solid.
  • Experience building streaming-data interfaces with frequent updates, subscriptions, connection failures, and system-status feedback.
  • Experience building interactive charts and working with large datasets.
  • Ability to reason about rendering performance, plot update frequency, virtualization, SVG, Canvas, and WebGL.
  • Sound interaction and visual design judgment for information-dense operator tools, including accessibility and keyboard workflows.
  • Ability to work across teams and translate abstract workflows into concrete graphical tools.
