Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate a sandboxing platform for untrusted code across Kubernetes clusters, bare-metal data centers, and hyperscalers.
- Develop the sandbox runtime using Firecracker, including fast startup, snapshotting, and efficient scheduling.
- Optimize performance and latency to support millions of concurrent sandboxes.
- Write reliable, well-tested systems code in Rust and Python and contribute to code review, CI/CD, and observability.
- Own cross-cluster networking, security boundaries, isolation guarantees, and suspicious-activity monitoring.
- Collaborate with researchers and ML engineers to turn sandbox use cases such as synthetic data generation and RL training into platform features.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering and distributed-systems background with experience building and operating large-scale infrastructure.
- Deep expertise in at least one of Kubernetes and cluster operations, cross-cluster networking, observability, or low-level virtualization.
- Fluency in Python or Rust and comfort writing performance- and security-sensitive systems code.
- Strong software-design, testing, reliability, CI/CD, and observability skills.
- Ability to learn quickly, work independently, collaborate effectively, and operate with ambiguity in a high-ownership team.
- Preferred qualifications include Firecracker, microVM, or comparable virtualization experience; product understanding of sandbox use for synthetic data generation or RL training; GPU cluster, CUDA, or ML workload experience; SRE or platform engineering experience at scale; and open-source contributions or widely used internal tools.
