Responsibilities
- Lead qualification, customer discovery, target architecture design, effort and risk sizing, and technical content development for Snowflake proposals and Statements of Work.
- Build and maintain technical relationships with customer architects, data leaders, and other technical stakeholders.
- Assess migration effort, complexity, and risk for enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Review architecture decisions during delivery and ensure solutions align with the original scope and proposal.
- Identify delivery risks early and remain engaged through delivery to maintain technical accountability.
- Define Snowflake service-offering scope, success criteria, measurable outcomes, evidence of successful delivery, and repeatable execution frameworks.
- Partner with Snowflake field teams, specialist architects, and vendor technical stakeholders on customer engagements.
- Guide platform and environment design, warehouse and compute architecture, connectivity, data residency, cost architecture, migrations, data engineering, semantic layers, governance, and consumption economics.
Requirements
- Substantial hands-on Snowflake experience gained at a Snowflake partner, Snowflake, or through management of a significant internal Snowflake environment.
- Deep expertise in platform architecture, enterprise migration and consolidation, and data engineering, with sufficient proficiency to identify when specialist support is needed in other areas.
- Proven experience delivering enterprise-scale migration and consolidation initiatives and discussing a major migration engagement in detail, including lessons learned and outcomes.
- Experience with migrations from SAP and Oracle environments is particularly valuable; experience with Teradata, SQL Server, appliance platforms, and other cloud data warehouses is relevant.
- Demonstrated success operating at Principal Architect level or equivalent and serving as the senior technical authority in customer engagements.
- Ability to commit organizations to technical approaches, architectures, and delivery scopes.
- Presales experience or delivery leadership demonstrating the ability to lead customer discussions, define scope and approach, develop proposals and Statements of Work, and stand behind sales-process commitments.
- Comfort collaborating with and being challenged by vendor architects and technical specialists.
- Snowflake certification is preferred, with the ability to obtain certification quickly if not already certified.
