Responsibilities
- Create, enhance, maintain, and govern business and application service maps using ServiceNow Service Mapping, Discovery, and CMDB capabilities.
- Validate relationships among business services, applications, servers, databases, load balancers, networks, cloud resources, and other configuration items.
- Use pattern-based, tag-based, automated discovery, metadata-driven mapping, and traffic-based dependency detection to maintain end-to-end service relationships.
- Identify and remediate missing relationships, incorrect dependency paths, stale or orphaned configuration items, discovery gaps, and integration issues.
- Conduct validation sessions with Application Owners and SMEs and monitor data freshness, CI health, mapping quality, and coverage metrics.
- Support tier-based recertification, exception tracking, remediation actions, audit-ready documentation, regulatory evidence, KPI reporting, and management updates.
- Identify and deliver scalable ITAM automation enhancements that improve asset data accuracy, lifecycle visibility, operational efficiency, governance, and audit readiness.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of Service Mapping, CMDB, and dependency mapping concepts.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Service Mapping, Discovery, and CMDB.
- Experience with tag-based service mapping and metadata-driven mapping approaches, particularly in cloud environments.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure components including servers, databases, networks, and cloud services.
- Familiarity with ITSM processes including Incident, Change, and Problem management.
- ServiceNow certification such as CSA or CIS-SM is preferred.
- Familiarity with pattern optimization or extension concepts, MID Server setup and health monitoring, and discovery troubleshooting is preferred.
