Responsibilities
- Define the long-term technical vision for the Developer Platform.
- Pioneer the integration of AI/ML to enhance productivity.
- Identify and translate engineering productivity gaps into solvable problems.
- Drive improvements in engineering velocity and quality.
- Set standards for quality and operational excellence across platform systems.
- Resolve conflicting priorities and mitigate risks across teams.
- Take ownership of complex, cross-cutting projects.
- Influence collaboration across the Engineering organization.
- Act as a company ambassador through external contributions.
- Coach and mentor Staff Engineers.
Requirements
- Typically 12+ years of industry experience in Software Engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to function at a level equivalent to an Engineering Director.
- Proven track record of driving technical strategy for high-impact initiatives.
- Deep expertise in a general-purpose programming language.
- Exceptional skills as a Consensus Builder and Cross-Functional Leader.
- Experience in architecting and scaling Developer Platforms and Infrastructure.
- Understanding of leveraging AI/ML to improve software development processes.
- Ability to coach and mentor engineers up to the Staff level.
- Capable of self-directing and managing time effectively.
