Base Salary
$200k - $245k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and productionize scalable AI and machine learning models.
- Set best practices and technical direction for the machine learning platform.
- Develop frameworks, pipelines, libraries, utilities, and tools for large-scale ML data processing.
- Build a model deployment platform and reusable end-to-end pipelines from data acquisition through model output delivery.
- Partner with ML engineers and data scientists to troubleshoot and optimize complex ML pipelines.
- Collaborate with product managers and business partners to gather machine learning requirements.
- Mentor and guide junior data scientists and engineers in deploying models to production.
- Design and build ML engineering solutions that enable new modeling capabilities.
- Help set the direction of machine learning efforts, hire talent, and work closely with the Sr. Director of ML/Data Engineering.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience with machine learning platform systems.
- Experience with autoscaling, load balancing, distributed computing, and production integration of AI or machine learning models.
- Strong shell or Bash scripting, Docker, data pipeline, machine learning library, and utility development experience.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Experience with AWS Lambda, ECS, ECR, SageMaker, Fargate, EMR, or Airflow for production deployments.
- Strong computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
- Bonus experience building and training machine learning models, hosting open-source AI models and LLMs, productionizing feature stores, and using S3, Snowflake, or DynamoDB.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, willingness to learn new technologies, and willingness to mentor junior ML engineers and data scientists.
