Responsibilities
- Assess manual test suites and build prioritized, risk-based automation roadmaps.
- Design, develop, and maintain Playwright and TypeScript automation for front-end, integration, end-to-end, and API testing.
- Enhance reusable test automation frameworks with fixtures, reporting, parallel execution, environment configuration, and failure diagnostics.
- Develop automated tests for Angular and .NET applications, including backend and API testing.
- Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and maintain test assets in source code repositories.
- Establish automation standards covering test design, coding practices, assertions, selectors, documentation, and code reviews.
- Resolve flaky tests, environment issues, timing dependencies, and test data problems using SQL, APIs, scripts, and fixtures.
- Analyze failures, support risk-based release testing, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior automation engineers.
- Use Claude Code and OpenAI Codex responsibly while validating generated code for quality, security, and maintainability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in test automation, software development, or SDET.
- Hands-on Playwright automation and TypeScript development experience for modern web applications.
- Experience designing and enhancing scalable, maintainable test automation frameworks.
- Experience with automated UI, integration, end-to-end, and API testing, including REST APIs, HTTP, HTML, CSS selectors, browser behavior, and asynchronous execution.
- Experience integrating test suites into CI/CD pipelines and proficiency with Git, branching strategies, pull requests, and code reviews.
- Strong SQL skills for test data creation, validation, cleanup, and management.
- Ability to troubleshoot flaky failures using logs, traces, screenshots, network analysis, videos, and other diagnostic tools.
- Demonstrated responsible use of AI-powered coding tools, including attention to generated code quality, security, and maintainability.
- Strong written and verbal communication and the ability to collaborate across teams and influence engineering practices.
- Preferred experience with Angular, .NET, Azure DevOps, accessibility, visual regression, performance or contract testing, reusable testing utilities, and consulting or managed services environments.
