Responsibilities
- Design and implement high-performance KV storage engines and filesystem components for large-scale distributed storage and database backends.
- Explore and evolve KV storage engine architectures to achieve low latency and high throughput.
- Analyze storage requirements across business scenarios and collaborate with business teams to identify suitable storage solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong problem analysis, conceptual abstraction, and system design skills.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and familiarity with Python, Shell, or a similar language.
- Proficiency in systems programming, including system calls, library functions, networking and multithreaded programming models, debugging, and IO performance tuning.
- In-depth understanding of storage architectures and principles, including LSM Trees and filesystems such as ext4 and BlueFS.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals, including consensus, replication, consistency models, and fault tolerance.
- Preferred qualifications include a PhD, five years of asynchronous and event-driven programming experience, relevant distributed storage, caching, database, KV engine, or filesystem development experience, familiarity with RocksDB, LevelDB, Redis, Memcached, or Cachelib, and experience with storage-compute disaggregation architectures.
