Responsibilities
- Manage and troubleshoot live production environments across distributed cloud services and stateful infrastructure.
- Develop automation tooling and scripts to eliminate repetitive operational toil and improve efficiency.
- Design and improve observability frameworks, monitoring telemetry, logging, tracing, and application performance monitoring.
- Work with product development teams to embed reliability into the software lifecycle.
- Diagnose complex software and networking issues and improve system performance, scalability, availability, and resilience.
- Own service integrations, database schemas, operational telemetry, and end-to-end reliability initiatives.
- Learn new technical domains quickly and train other team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2–4 years of experience in an SRE, DevOps, or cloud engineering role supporting production distributed systems in cloud environments.
- Beginner programming knowledge in Java and Python, with scripting and automation experience using Bash or Python.
- Intermediate knowledge of observability practices, including application performance monitoring, error budgets, monitoring, logging, and tracing.
- Understanding of SLI, SLO, and SLA methodologies.
- Beginner knowledge of infrastructure as code and configuration management using Terraform.
- Beginner knowledge of containers and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Experience managing Linux operating systems, RabbitMQ queue servers, PostgreSQL database instances, and AWS infrastructure including EC2 or EKS.
- Intermediate troubleshooting knowledge for complex software and networking issues.
- Experience using AI coding assistants for daily tasks, debugging, and rapid prototyping.
- Knowledge of secure software development, test-driven development, CI/CD tooling, Agile methodologies, and professional software engineering practices.
- Experience with distributed computing, enterprise-wide systems, software development lifecycle practices, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with users, technical teams, and senior management.
