Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain LabVIEW and Python applications for monitoring and controlling vacuum instrumentation.
- Contribute to software supporting gas analysers, pressure gauges, and related vacuum equipment.
- Improve tools for data acquisition, logging, analysis, and visualisation.
- Integrate new instruments and functionalities into the existing control infrastructure.
- Support software testing, validation, deployment, follow-up, and maintenance on operational systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and users to translate operational needs into robust software solutions.
- Document developments, configurations, and procedures on internal documentation platforms.
Requirements
- Initial experience programming in Python.
- Interest in scientific and industrial instrumentation, data acquisition, analysis, and control systems.
- LabVIEW application development experience is advantageous.
- LabVIEW Real-Time and/or FPGA knowledge is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Linux environments.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Software, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- No more than two years of professional experience since graduation.
- Eligibility for nationals of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- English or French proficiency with a commitment to learn the basics of the other language.
- Valid driving licence.
- Applicants must not have previously held a CERN fellow or graduate contract and applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
