Responsibilities

  • Contribute to software specifications and architecture design for complex embedded solutions.
  • Develop and code software modules in accordance with quality standards.
  • Set up and maintain the software development toolchain.
  • Prepare and perform software module tests and verifications.
  • Manage software configuration according to the product Configuration Management Plan.
  • Collaborate with software architects, hardware designers, RAMS, and V&V teams throughout the software design cycle.
  • Apply software processes and standards to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Develop reusable solutions and contribute to standardization.
  • Drive continuous improvement, Return on Experience, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with global teams and guide technical work in a matrix organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, ECE, EEE, or an equivalent field.
  • 10+ years of experience designing software modules for complex embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in C and scripting languages such as Python.
  • Experience with multicore and multithreaded programming.
  • Knowledge of Linux, RTOS, and VxWorks operating systems.
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, CIP, TRDP, and MVB communication protocols.
  • Strong understanding of embedded concepts, including multithreading and inter-process communication.
  • Experience with low-level embedded software design.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and secure network communications.
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills for complex systems.
  • Rail-industry experience is highly desirable; similar industry experience may be considered.
  • Ability to collaborate across global geographic locations.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills in a matrix organization.
  • Passion for reusable solutions and model-based development.
  • Willingness to travel short term to the platform development center in Europe as needed.
