Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Support and extend altOS, the company’s custom Android distribution.
- Design and build Android applications with features and extensions to the base operating system.
- Develop Android operating system, framework, and platform-level features with application and server teams.
- Perform product design, bug verification, release testing, and beta projects on a custom Android ROM or distribution.
- Compile, modify, debug, install, and flash AOSP, Android ROMs, Linux components, HALs, and device drivers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams and evaluate technologies that improve development efficiency.
Requirements
- A university degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- At least five years of experience in Android-related product development.
- Experience with AOSP, Android Platform or Android Framework development, Linux operating system development, Linux kernel or device-driver development, and Android HALs.
- Experience porting Android ROMs to new devices or contributing to open-source Android distributions such as LineageOS or Paranoid Android.
- Experience with Android SDK, Android Studio, Git or another source control system, and Android device-management technologies including DevicePolicyManager and MDM APIs.
- Proficiency in C and C++; Java experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience or skills with Bash scripting, Makefiles, and Perl or Python.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance; an active clearance is not required at application.
- Strong communication, collaboration, initiative, creativity, adaptability, and attention to detail.
