Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop, implement, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain software applications using modern software engineering practices.
- Develop infrastructure and configuration automation using Terraform and Ansible.
- Build and support AI-assisted development capabilities involving generative AI, LLMs, RAG, AI agents, prompt engineering, AI coding assistants, and AI MCP servers.
- Use DevOps and CI/CD tooling including Bamboo, Docker, SonarQube, Ansible, Git, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.
- Develop applications that create, validate, transform, and manage structured data such as JSON, CSV, XML, XSD, and XSLT.
- Investigate and repair defects across automation, front-end, business logic, middleware, and database components.
- Provide software expertise in application integration, RESTful services, artificial intelligence, security, workflow automation, module integration, user experience, and accessibility compliance.
- Brief management, customers, team members, and vendors at an appropriate technical level.
- Travel to customer sites and other locations as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, engineering, or a related technical discipline; a master’s or doctorate may substitute for required experience.
- At least 3 years of combined experience with modern software development using Python, Java, or PHP.
- Experience working in Agile software development environments.
- Willingness to travel at least 50% as needed.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance, requiring U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
- Experience with Python libraries and frameworks including GeoPandas, Fiona, Pillow, PyTesseract, and XMLDiff.
- Experience with object-oriented design, type annotations, asynchronous programming, automated testing, and secure software development practices.
- Experience with XML schema design, XSLT transformations, and structured-data validation.
- Experience with unit, integration, end-to-end, and behavior-driven testing using tools such as pytest, Behave, Selenium, Playwright, and test automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript/TypeScript, CSS3, and responsive UI development.
- Experience automating tasks with Bash, Shell, or Python and working with UNIX and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jenkins, SonarQube, and automated build and deployment pipelines.
- Experience with AI-assisted development, generative AI, LLMs, RAG, AI agents, prompt engineering, and AI MCP servers.
- Preferred qualifications include Ansible playbook and role development, RPM-based Linux deployment, AWS experience, PHP and Drupal development, Atlassian tools, relational databases, SQL optimization, ORM technologies, and FAA or air-traffic domain knowledge.

- The position can be remote, with preference for candidates local to and able to work three days per week in Gaithersburg, Maryland; Atlantic City, New Jersey; or Eagan, Minnesota.
- The role requires willingness to travel at least 50% and may involve travel to customer sites.
- The position requires a Public Trust security clearance and U.S. citizenship or permanent residency eligibility.
