Responsibilities
- Deploy, integrate, and support automation and scripting solutions for network and firewall appliances.
- Build Ansible automation for configuring, monitoring, and analyzing network and firewall appliances through REST APIs.
- Write and maintain Python scripts using automation frameworks.
- Develop troubleshooting and debugging code to identify problems.
- Identify network operations use cases for automation.
- Create reports and graphs from NetFlow, sFlow, J-Flow, flowd, and IPFIX records.
- Set up network-device logging and monitoring dashboards and graphs.
- Contribute to runbooks, how-to guides, technical support guides, and Methods of Procedure.
Requirements
- Have 2–5 years of experience in a DevOps capacity with configuration automation and remote network management exposure.
- Write basic scripts in Python or Bash.
- Know HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for simple internal network forms and templates.
- Have familiarity with configuration management and templating tools.
- Understand REST APIs and HTTPS requests.
- Have basic Git experience, including pulling, committing, and pushing code.
- Have basic Flask web framework experience for lightweight applications and REST endpoints.
- Know SQL and lightweight databases such as SQLite or PostgreSQL.
- Understand the OSI model and TCP/IP.
- Have experience using Linux systems.
- Have experience with open-source software and service management tools such as OpenStack, OpenShift, Zabbix, JIRA, Confluence, and Jenkins.
