Responsibilities
- Define and evolve software architecture for the Azurion Eye orchestrator and clinical operating functions across cloud, edge, and ecosystem integrations.
- Translate functional and non-functional requirements into reference architectures, implementation guardrails, interface contracts, and integration strategies.
- Identify architectural risks, shape mitigation strategies, and contribute to risk management in a regulated development environment.
- Lead architectural decisions for distributed, integration-heavy systems supporting low-latency workflow orchestration and predictable performance.
- Promote engineering quality through automation, CI/CD, diagnostics, observability, and operational-readiness patterns.
- Support build-versus-buy and partner integration decisions while protecting safety, quality, and long-term evolvability.
- Mentor engineers through design reviews, architectural decision records, and interface governance.
- Contribute hands-on to software development and drive proofs of concept toward technology and design decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Software Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Typically 7+ years of experience designing and delivering complex software in regulated environments across edge or embedded systems and cloud services.
- Experience designing distributed systems across on-premises and cloud-native or edge-native environments, including containers and Kubernetes.
- Strong background in event-driven or integration-heavy architectures and stable interface contracts for reliable, low-latency workflow orchestration.
- Experience applying automated testing, CI/CD, observability and monitoring, operational readiness, and AI-assisted development practices in regulated medical contexts.
- Understanding of healthcare interoperability and imaging ecosystems, especially DICOM and FHIR.
- Ability to balance feature delivery, technical debt, platform evolution, safety, cybersecurity, verification, and design-control expectations.
- Pragmatic technical leadership and hands-on guidance for services written in Golang and Python.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration, communication, judgment, and comfort working with evolving requirements.
- Experience delivering software under medical-device regulation is strongly preferred.
