Responsibilities
- Develop, modify, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and enhance software applications supporting marine training and simulation systems.
- Support software verification and validation, defect investigation, root-cause analysis, patching, Windows updates, and system maintenance.
- Integrate software with hardware interfaces and networked systems and support deployment, installation, and customer-site activities.
- Participate in release activities including FAT, TRR, TCR, planned maintenance, upgrades, and customer deployments.
- Produce technical documentation and engineering records while collaborating with software, systems, integration, support, and customer engineering teams.
- Follow structured engineering processes, quality standards, configuration-control practices, and security requirements.
Requirements
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related STEM discipline, or equivalent technical qualifications and relevant industry experience.
- Experience developing software using C and/or C++.
- Commercial experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or a technical support environment.
- Experience with software testing and verification, defect resolution, software releases, maintenance, or deployment activities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Visual Studio, Windows operating systems, Windows Server administration, Active Directory, VMware, and Tortoise SVN or equivalent version-control tools.
- Knowledge of hardware and software integration, network troubleshooting, software development lifecycle principles, configuration control, and technical documentation.
- Experience in structured, security-conscious, regulated, defence, maritime, naval, military, simulation, synthetic training, or deployed-system environments is beneficial.
- ADA development experience and customer-facing deployment or installation experience are also relevant.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC) and be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
- Must be willing to work in secure defence facilities, travel occasionally to customer locations, and support deployed systems during planned maintenance, upgrade, and deployment activities.
