Base Salary
$224k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own fast, reliable CI/CD pipelines for large, multi-language transport repositories.
- Optimize build systems, including build graphs, caching, reproducibility, and dependency management.
- Automate embedded firmware and vehicle OS builds and testing.
- Design and build secure over-the-air vehicle updates with staged rollouts, redundancy, and rollback.
- Define repository organization, artifact versioning and storage, and dependency-tracking strategies.
- Integrate hardware-in-the-loop rigs and simulation into release validation.
- Build developer observability and tooling to track build health, test flakiness, and time-to-deploy.
- Reduce build and test cycle times and act as a cross-functional force multiplier for software, hardware, and robotics teams.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional experience in Developer Experience, Build Engineering, or Infrastructure supporting large-scale engineering organizations.
- Strong programming proficiency in Python, C++, Go, or similar languages.
- Deep knowledge of modern build systems and package managers, such as Bazel, CMake, and UV.
- Hands-on experience scaling CI/CD systems, monorepo architectures, and automated testing pipelines for complex codebases.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, firmware builds, or containerized IoT operating systems such as Balena Linux or Yocto.
- Understanding of secure, fail-safe OTA deployment pipelines for edge hardware or robotics.
- Proven ability to reduce build and test cycle times, eliminate flaky tests, and manage complex dependency graphs.
- Exceptional communication skills and an empathetic, cross-functional working style.
