Responsibilities
- Build and launch end-to-end product features across client and server systems.
- Develop reusable software components and APIs for backend platforms, payments, and third-party integrations.
- Work across multiple programming languages and technology layers to solve product problems.
- Set technical direction and goals, lead major initiatives, and drive cross-functional delivery.
- Architect efficient, scalable systems and make engineering trade-offs for zero-to-one efforts.
- Resolve performance and scalability issues and reduce technical debt.
- Own significant components, features, or systems with end-to-end technical understanding.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship, onboard team members, and raise engineering quality.
- Collaborate with product management, design, data science, operations, legal, compliance, and local partners.
- Ship reliable and regulation-compliant payment services for the Indian market.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of programming experience in a relevant language, or 4+ years of experience with a PhD.
- Experience driving organizational change and leading complex technical projects.
- Experience using data and analysis to explain technical problems and provide detailed solutions.
- Preferred experience building large-scale applications, API integrations, and large-scale software architectures.
- Preferred programming experience with C, C++, Java, Swift, Kotlin, Python, JavaScript, or Hack.
- Preferred experience with Indian consumer technology, fintech, UPI, digital payments, payment systems, or emerging-market products.
- Preferred experience building zero-to-one products, global multi-market products, messaging platforms, or mobile-first consumer products.
- Preferred experience working with distributed teams and integrating AI tools to improve workflows.
- Preferred experience implementing responsible and ethical AI practices and developing skills in prompt/context engineering and agent orchestration.
