Responsibilities
- Architect and implement production-grade LLM, Generative AI, and Agentic AI solutions for healthcare and medical-practice workflows.
- Build RAG pipelines, AI agents, orchestration, tool calling, document intelligence, and intelligent automation end to end.
- Develop approaches for LLM evaluation, grounding, guardrails, observability, security, latency, cost optimization, and reliability.
- Apply prompt engineering, model selection, fine-tuning, retrieval strategies, and machine-learning techniques to specialty-specific healthcare problems.
- Define reusable AI engineering patterns, architecture standards, and best practices across AI initiatives.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and healthcare domain experts to influence technical direction and deliver AI initiatives.
- Mentor engineers, conduct technical design reviews, and improve organizational AI and engineering maturity.
- Promote secure, explainable, governable, privacy-conscious, compliant, and responsible AI solutions.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in AI/ML, Machine Learning, Data Science, or Software Engineering, including significant hands-on experience building production AI systems.
- Deep hands-on experience with LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector search, and AI agents.
- Strong Python skills and experience with modern AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, LangGraph, or LlamaIndex.
- Ability to design scalable and reliable AI/ML architectures and translate ambiguous business problems into production-ready technical solutions.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals including APIs, distributed systems, testing, CI/CD, observability, and production operations.
- Experience deploying AI/ML solutions at scale on AWS or equivalent cloud platforms, with platforms such as Databricks, MLflow, or SageMaker.
- Understanding of LLM evaluation, hallucination mitigation, grounding, model quality, and AI observability.
- Ability to influence architecture and technical direction, mentor engineers, and lead complex initiatives without direct people-management responsibility.
- Experience with multi-agent or agentic AI systems, orchestration, planning, memory, and tool use is a bonus.
- Experience with document intelligence, OCR, document classification, information extraction, or multimodal AI is a bonus.
- Healthcare AI, clinical workflows, medical data, revenue cycle management, billing, claims, FHIR, HL7, X12/EDI, HIPAA, healthcare data privacy, AI security, or responsible AI experience is a bonus.
- Familiarity with foundation models such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Llama, or Mistral and with optimizing LLM inference cost, latency, scalability, and reliability is a bonus.
