Responsibilities
- Build and operate scalable cloud infrastructure and platform systems.
- Provision new regions and customer environments with minimal manual work.
- Develop autoscaling and right-sizing systems to reduce cloud costs while preserving reliability.
- Improve reliability and incident response for mission-critical services under production load.
- Strengthen platform security controls for compliance-driven public-sector environments.
- Build developer tooling, guardrails, documentation, and self-service paths for deployment, observability, and debugging.
- Drive infrastructure initiatives from design through production while balancing cost, effort, and business impact.
- Manage multiple priorities, surface risks and status changes, and contribute to technical decisions beyond the immediate area of ownership.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and participate in on-call ownership and incident response.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience building and operating cloud infrastructure at scale, with direct ownership of platform or networking systems.
- Proficiency in a modern infrastructure programming language such as Python or Go.
- Hands-on experience with major public cloud platforms, container orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
- Experience reducing cloud costs through architecture and tooling without compromising reliability.
- Knowledge of cloud and network security best practices and experience in compliance-driven environments.
- Experience building developer tools, guardrails, and documentation that improve platform usability and safety.
- Comfort operating and improving systems under real production load, including on-call and incident response.
- Located in Washington, DC and open to working in the office.
- Currently holds or can obtain an active U.S. security clearance.

- Annual salary range of $200,000-$250,000, plus benefits, equity if applicable, and bonus if applicable.
