Base Salary
$85k - $105k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write and review code and maintain framework infrastructure throughout the agile development cycle.
- Design and develop automation for interdisciplinary projects and support team members with day-to-day activities.
- Define, design, and implement APIs and contribute to software architecture design.
- Deploy automation framework infrastructure using virtualization and containerization.
- Maintain and expand software tools, laboratory environments, and hardware components.
- Support hardware communications, data transformation, and data visualization.
- Translate user stories into actionable tasks and help solve problems within the automation organization.
- Create documentation presenting complex information clearly.
- Learn the protocols and details of the Iridium satellite constellation and ground systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical degree.
- At least 2 years of experience with software development or automation.
- Experience developing software in Python and/or other object-oriented software languages.
- Understanding of fundamental object-oriented software engineering concepts.
- Experience working with Linux and/or Unix through the command line.
- Experience with Git and distributed version control.
- Strong communication, analytical, prioritization, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens because the position supports or is exposed to a U.S. government contract.
- Preferred experience includes Agile software development, Jira or similar tools, integrated development environments, Docker or Podman, MySQL, Elasticsearch, DevOps and CI/CD tool suites, configuration-as-code tools, networking, and intermediate Linux or Unix knowledge.
