Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Python applications, services, engineering tools, and data pipelines.
- Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-tested Python code.
- Work with REST APIs, data processing, automation, and external integrations.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues, improve existing code, and participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Support developer productivity by improving engineering tooling, workflows, and software development processes.
- Work with Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, AWS, and containerized environments, with opportunities to learn these technologies on the job.
- Use AI-assisted development and testing tools to improve coding, debugging, automation, and engineering productivity.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of hands-on software development experience, with Python as a primary programming language.
- Strong knowledge of Python fundamentals, including data structures, functions, modules, classes, object-oriented programming, exceptions, and package management.
- Ability to write readable, maintainable, and reusable code rather than one-off scripts.
- Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and external integrations.
- Understanding of testing and debugging, including experience writing automated tests.
- Good understanding of Git, SQL, databases, and modern software development workflows.
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn unfamiliar technologies, seek feedback, and apply code-review feedback.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with dashboards or data visualization, Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, AWS or another cloud platform, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Splunk, Prometheus, or developer productivity engineering.
