Responsibilities
- Design and ship deep learning and ML models for real-time financial crime detection.
- Define architecture strategy covering model families, training paradigms, and serving patterns.
- Build reusable end-to-end pipelines from experimentation and training through production deployment.
- Evaluate foundation model and embedding approaches for transaction representation.
- Partner with Data Science on model evaluation, experimentation design, and causal measurement.
- Mentor engineers and data scientists on ML fundamentals, production practices, and architectural decisions.
- Influence technical strategy across teams and own problems from research through impact measurement.
Requirements
- Production experience shipping deep learning models at scale in systems serving real traffic under latency constraints.
- Ability to make and explain independent architecture-level decisions about model selection, training infrastructure, and serving strategy.
- Experience designing ML systems with hard latency and throughput requirements, including quantization, pre-computed embeddings, and batching optimization.
- Strong fundamentals in gradient dynamics, attention mechanisms, graph message-passing, and sequence modelling.
- Track record of influencing technical strategy across teams.
- Experience with Python, PyTorch or an equivalent framework, distributed training, and ML pipeline orchestration.
- Preferred experience includes financial crime, fraud detection, AML, regulated financial services, production graph methods, foundation model fine-tuning, LLM evaluation, or establishing modern ML practices.
