Responsibilities
- Architect, upgrade, design, and build scalable infrastructure using Kubernetes, AWS, and RDS.
- Drive infrastructure roadmap initiatives focused on reliability, recoverability, scalability, capacity planning, and performance.
- Define and enforce SLAs, alerts, observability practices, and anomaly detection across infrastructure.
- Stress test systems, identify bottlenecks, and prepare infrastructure for business growth.
- Support AI enablement efforts for infrastructure reliability, developer productivity, and internal tooling.
- Build consistency and scalability across distributed microservices while maintaining performance and reliability.
- Establish engineering practices for observability, security, and CI/CD.
- Mentor engineers and lead complex technical initiatives and cross-functional technical roadmaps.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of professional software engineering or infrastructure engineering experience, including significant SRE and backend experience.
- Recent experience deploying significant changes to a production application or infrastructure configuration within the past 30 days.
- Strong proficiency in Golang and experience building and maintaining commercial APIs.
- Expertise with SQL-based relational databases, including MySQL and PostgreSQL, and performance optimization of schemas and queries.
- Proficiency with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and New Relic.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems patterns, event-driven architecture, stream processing, and queues.
- Ability to influence decisions, introduce new ideas, and lead complex technical initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred experience includes AWS cloud infrastructure, Aurora RDS, data engineering, data pipelines, data warehousing, CI/CD, Kubernetes microservices, and AI developer tooling such as Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex, and Cursor.
