Base Salary
$184k - $314k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build large-scale systems and services handling massive data volumes and complex real-time workloads.
- Extend the ClickHouse pipeline to support new filters and attributes.
- Own customer-facing product development from problem definition through launch and continued improvement.
- Improve the performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of core segmentation backend systems.
- Drive architectural direction, scope major technical initiatives, manage technical debt, and mentor engineers.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineering teams, and stakeholders to align segmentation systems with business objectives.
- Maintain alerts, on-call procedures, troubleshooting playbooks, and other operational practices.
- Research and advocate for technologies that improve system quality and delivery efficiency.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including hands-on full-stack or backend development with high-scale, high-throughput systems.
- Proven experience delivering customer-facing products on high-scale data systems from problem definition through launch and adoption.
- Experience building foundational data-driven systems such as streaming systems, real-time pipelines, or large-scale data platforms.
- Strong technical leadership skills, including architectural direction, large-effort scoping, technical-debt management, and communication of complex concepts.
- Deep understanding of software design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to thrive in collaborative team environments.
- Preferred experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, React, Sidekiq, and SQL or NoSQL databases.
- Preferred experience with MongoDB, ClickHouse, Snowflake, or other data lake solutions.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes and AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Preferred experience with distributed systems, API design, monitoring, and software engineering best practices.
