Responsibilities
- Develop mobile applications using TypeScript/TSX, Flutter/Dart, and Kotlin for Android.
- Integrate WebView content with native device capabilities and maintain JavaScript bridge communication.
- Build and maintain integrations with receipt printers, barcode scanners, and payment terminals.
- Implement Flutter state management using BLoC/Cubit patterns.
- Assist with request/response handlers for device broker protocols.
- Participate in GitLab peer reviews and collaborate in a squad-based Scrum environment.
- Use AI coding assistants for development, testing, refactoring, prototyping, prompt engineering, and documentation improvements.
- Deliver work aligned with Product Management direction and established code-quality processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 2–8 years of professional software development experience.
- Experience with Flutter/Dart or strong interest in mobile application development.
- Experience with React/TypeScript, Kotlin, or Java for Android.
- Understanding of WebView integration and native/web bridge communication.
- Familiarity with BLoC, Cubit, or similar state management patterns.
- Basic knowledge of JSON serialization and API communication.
- Familiarity with GitLab workflows, including merge requests and pipelines.
- Exposure to Scrum and CI/CD practices.
- Strong written and spoken English, collaboration skills, and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Preferred: experience with AI coding assistants such as Codex, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot and effective prompt writing.
- Preferred: retail device integration, ESC/POS or UPOS, Zebra EMDK, Sunmi, Toshiba hardware, deep linking, mobile URL schemes, Flutter testing, Gradle, Jenkins, and retail/POS mobile UX.
Benefits
- Six-month contract role at 40 hours per week.
- Hourly pay range of $45.00–$60.00.
- Must work five days per week in the office and reside within the general vicinity of Durham, North Carolina.
