Responsibilities
- Shape organizational coding standards, engineering best practices, and software architecture.
- Design and build REST APIs with Spring Boot and Flask, including Python/NumPy analytical and data-processing components.
- Lead improvements to API service quality, performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency on Azure.
- Define and evolve technical strategy for large-scale distributed systems and enterprise applications.
- Apply DevSecOps practices, secrets management, SAST, DAST, quality gates, and progressive unit test coverage.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, PMO, and interfacing teams to productionalize features.
- Mentor junior engineers and guide colleagues with less experience.
- Lead design reviews, code reviews, and platform API roadmap discussions.
- Lead small projects and drive technical decisions through expertise, reasoning, and collaboration.
- Use AI tools to improve SDLC efficiency and design automated reliability improvements, incident simulations, and scaling patterns.
Requirements
- 7+ years of professional experience, ideally in platform engineering and API service layers integrating upstream and downstream systems.
- Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Python, with hands-on NumPy experience for data-intensive workloads.
- Strong experience building enterprise-scale REST APIs and Flask API services.
- Experience defining technical strategy for large-scale distributed systems.
- Experience designing, building, deploying, and refactoring enterprise-grade applications.
- Strong database expertise across RDBMS and NoSQL, with hands-on caching and queuing experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Azure and modern cloud ecosystems.
- Strong expertise in DevSecOps pipelines, quality gates, code coverage, testing, SAST, and DAST.
- Ability to balance short-term delivery with long-term scalability and maintainability.
- Track record of resolving cross-team challenges through open and constructive collaboration.
