Base Salary
$202k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve Uber’s A/B and marketplace experimentation products.
- Build and optimize large-scale data pipelines using Spark and Presto for experiment metrics, power analyses, and marketplace insights.
- Improve monitoring, alerting, dashboards, anomaly detection, and on-call playbooks for experiment-driven regressions.
- Collaborate with data scientists and product managers to productionize causal-inference models through APIs and batch workflows.
- Develop reliable systems, libraries, and microservices using testing, performance profiling, logging, and other software engineering best practices.
- Design and document architectural solutions to complex engineering problems and participate in incident retrospectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience in an engineering-related bootcamp.
- 5+ years of professional software development experience building and deploying production systems.
- Proficiency writing efficient, clean code in Go, Java, or Python.
- Ability to debug and fix software bugs in production-scale environments.
- Strong understanding of distributed-systems fundamentals, including caching, sharding, consensus, fault tolerance, observability, and incident response.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including architecture and algorithm documentation.
- Preferred qualifications include advanced coursework or industry experience in statistics, causal inference, or experimental design.
- Preferred qualifications include ownership of experiment analysis workflows, experience with Python, Pandas, PySpark, Spark, Scala, Jupyter Notebooks, and feature-flag or progressive-delivery systems.
