Responsibilities
- Lead development and begin architecting scalable, elastic distributed-system components using distributed state-management and data-plane platforms.
- Optimize code and systems for large-scale data processing, high throughput, high concurrency, and hyperscale workloads.
- Design fault-tolerant systems with redundancy, replication, automatic failover, in-service upgrades, partition handling, load shedding, throttling, and rate limiting.
- Define SLOs, KPIs, telemetry, dashboards, alerts, correctness requirements, data replication, synchronization, and complex fault-injection and brownout test scenarios.
- Diagnose, debug, and resolve production issues; support incident response and root-cause investigations; mentor peers; and participate in operational support rotations.
- Implement security controls, encryption, access controls, remediation plans, cloud compliance measures, and current documentation.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code automation and change-management plans for patching, updates, and rollbacks.
Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant engineering, architecture, or development/operational experience.
- Strong experience with data-plane architectures in networking devices and high-concurrency systems.
- Experience designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance network solutions using DPDK and C/C++.
- Working experience with Linux operating systems or kernels, device drivers, performance testing tools, and distributed debugging tools.
- Expert knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts and technologies.
- Experience working with geographically distributed teams and in startup or fast-paced enterprise technology environments.
- Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, collaboration, and process-improvement abilities, with comfort in rapidly evolving software environments.
