Responsibilities
- Lead technical governance and architectural decisions for large-scale data center network infrastructure.
- Define delivery standards and ensure engineering quality across networking, security, routing, load balancing, and high-security infrastructure.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of complex network infrastructure workstreams from design through operational handover.
- Act as the primary technical authority in cross-organizational engagements with SAP engineering teams and external stakeholders.
- Improve network delivery operating models, tooling, automation, and AI-assisted engineering practices.
- Mentor DevOps and network engineering teams and raise technical capability.
- Manage third-party managed service provider engagements, including expectations, deliverables, quality, and timelines.
- Lead post-incident analysis and convert findings into architectural and delivery-standard improvements.
- Represent SAP Cloud Infrastructure Network Delivery in cross-organizational and cross-program technical forums.
- Promote automation, prototyping, and AI-assisted development practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of hands-on data center network engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in EVPN/VXLAN, Cisco Nexus 9k/NX-OS, ACI, IOS-XR, FortiGate, Neutron routing, C8500, IOS-XE, F5 R-Series, F5OS-A, and Thales/Utimaco high-security modules.
- Experience owning architectural decisions, defining standards, and independently driving outcomes across complex multi-team programs.
- Strong technical project management experience with Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban, and backlog-driven delivery at program scale.
- Experience leading third-party managed service provider engagements and managing performance and quality outcomes.
- Ability to represent technical positions credibly in cross-organizational and executive-level forums.
- Active use of AI-assisted tools in engineering and delivery practices.
- Knowledge of SecNumCloud or an equivalent sovereign cloud security framework for French cloud regions.
- Fluent English and French.
- Successful candidates may be required to complete background verification with an external vendor.
