Base Salary
$230k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems for regulatory and risk-management needs.
- Design and implement large-scale distributed and cloud-native systems with high reliability and performance requirements.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple teams and shape system architecture, platform roadmaps, and long-term technology direction.
- Use Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services to deliver cloud-based solutions.
- Mentor engineering community members and senior engineers while driving professional development within technical teams.
- Lead architectural design reviews, establish coding standards and design patterns, and influence enterprise-wide technical standards.
- Implement observability and reliability practices and use observability to identify and optimize distributed-system performance bottlenecks.
- Lead cross-functional engineering efforts and large-scale technical initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field such as Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 9+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala.
- Preferred: 5+ years contributing to open source frameworks and 5+ years with front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks.
- Preferred: 5+ years creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs and 4+ years with database management systems.
- Preferred: 4+ years with AWS, GCP, Azure, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: 4+ years with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing frameworks, and Git-based version-control systems such as Git, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
- Preferred: 4+ years troubleshooting technical issues in cloud environments and 2+ years using observability to optimize distributed-system performance.
- Preferred: experience mentoring senior engineers, influencing technology strategy, leading architectural reviews, establishing coding standards, implementing reliability practices, and leading large-scale technical initiatives.
- Experience with modern AI-based coding tools, IDE copilots, and interactive AI tooling beyond basic code completion.
