Responsibilities
- Drive technical and consumption strategy for complex customer engagements and influence platform adoption and revenue growth.
- Own senior technical relationships and advise executives on enterprise data and AI strategy.
- Lead complex architecture engagements involving multi-workload platforms, enterprise migrations, real-time systems, and AI/ML at scale.
- Serve as a Databricks Platform expert with a declared technical specialization and mentor other solutions architects.
- Develop competitive strategies and lead competitive displacements and enterprise evaluations.
- Orchestrate DSAs, SSAs, partners, and product teams to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.
- Coach junior SAs on technical depth, customer engagement, and use-case prioritization.
- Create customer-facing content, workshops, and community contributions for Field Engineering thought leadership.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in solutions architecture, principal engineering, technical pre-sales leadership, or a senior customer-facing technical role.
- Expert coding proficiency in Python and SQL, with Spark/PySpark preferred; candidates complete a live coding assessment and platform build during interviews.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, streaming and real-time architectures, lakehouse design patterns, data governance, and cloud-native platforms.
- Expert-level Databricks Platform knowledge or equivalent depth with competing platforms and demonstrated ability to learn rapidly.
- Recognized technical specialization in areas such as real-time architectures, ML/AI platforms, data governance, large-scale migrations, or industry solutions.
- Proven success driving consumption growth and platform adoption in large accounts.
- Ability to influence Directors, VPs, and C-level stakeholders on long-term data and AI strategy and connect architecture decisions to business outcomes.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Professional working proficiency in German.
- Preferred qualifications include Databricks certifications, experience at Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, Google, Microsoft, or a leading data/AI company, published thought leadership, and deep Life Sciences or Healthcare expertise.
