Software Architect - SambaRack
SambaNova SystemsResponsibilities
- Own the end-to-end technical architecture of SambaRack’s infrastructure and management platform for safe, reliable control, monitoring, and diagnostics.
- Define architectural strategy and technical direction across engineering teams in alignment with product and business objectives.
- Lead design reviews for hardware-software integration points and infrastructure services.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, reliability gaps, and scaling constraints before they affect customers.
- Establish architectural standards, patterns, and best practices across the engineering organization.
- Partner with Hardware Engineering, DevOps, QA, and Product teams on infrastructure requirements and architectural decisions.
- Mentor infrastructure software engineers and promote systems-level architectural thinking.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and design new systems and capabilities for the AI inference space.
Requirements
- 12–15 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong experience architecting infrastructure, systems, or platform software.
- Solid programming experience in Go, Rust, Python, or C/C++.
- Strong understanding of Linux, networking, concurrency, and distributed systems.
- Experience designing reliable backend or control-plane services for production systems.
- Experience with hardware management systems such as BMCs, Redfish, IPMI, or OpenBMC.
- Experience with monitoring, telemetry, or observability systems for infrastructure platforms.
- Experience with rack management, server management, bare-metal infrastructure, fleet management, diagnostics, or hardware health monitoring is preferred.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and metrics exporter design is preferred.
- Experience supporting enterprise or air-gapped deployments is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Kubernetes, Helm Charts, and the Kubernetes ecosystem is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, cross-functional collaboration, and software development best-practice skills.
