Responsibilities
- Write clear, reliable, and maintainable embedded software and firmware.
- Decompose problems into logical components and implement efficient software solutions.
- Design new features and improve existing technologies.
- Modify software for new hardware, correct errors, upgrade interfaces, and improve performance.
- Debug complex low-level issues spanning hardware and software interfaces.
- Contribute to developer unit tests using GTEST.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product management, QA, and UX to deliver new features.
- Debug issues in factory, vendor, and third-party laboratory environments.
- Participate in team processes and continuous improvement activities.
Requirements
- Experience programming embedded systems in C/C++.
- Knowledge of embedded Linux system architecture and development environments.
- Knowledge of hardware-level communication interfaces including SPI, I2C, I2S, UART, USB, and Bluetooth.
- Demonstrable experience developing performance-critical software in resource-constrained environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional technical collaboration.
- Preferred: BS or MS in electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related discipline.
- Preferred: 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Preferred: Knowledge of WiFi interfaces at a hardware integration level.
- Preferred: Experience with embedded Linux and real-time operating systems.
- Preferred: Hands-on testing and debugging of embedded systems in a laboratory environment.
- Preferred: Experience shipping reliable, extensible, and maintainable software.
- Preferred: Understanding of embedded software development processes, including design, implementation, unit testing, continuous integration, and version control.
- Preferred: Linux Kernel and U-Boot programming and configuration experience.
- Preferred: Experience managing software developers or contractors.
- Ability to work with people from different cultures, backgrounds, locations, and time zones.
