Base Salary
$170k - $230k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build reliable, scalable, and maintainable software systems used by millions of low-income Americans.
- Build iOS and Android apps using Vue, TypeScript, and Capacitor.
- Develop server-side software using Python and Flask, backed by Postgres and Redis, while leveraging AWS and open-source technologies.
- Collaborate with Product and Design to scope projects and execute innovative products.
- Help shape technical architecture, internal tooling, engineering processes, and scalable integrations with healthcare and government systems.
- Participate in projects, design discussions, code reviews, team communication, and the on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing, building, shipping, and maintaining complex full-stack software.
- Experience working in a startup environment or ability to operate effectively amid ambiguity.
- Fluency in Python and JavaScript, or willingness to learn and specialize in these languages.
- Computer science degree or equivalent fundamentals learned elsewhere.
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability and eagerness to contribute to code reviews, design document reviews, team discussions, and impactful projects.
- Passion for making a difference in users' lives.
- Preferred: experience with or knowledge of government services, including SNAP, WIC, TANF, SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, or Section 8.
