Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain API management software and its underlying stack.
- Architect and implement features for proxying, load balancing, and database support.
- Troubleshoot bugs, tune performance, and perform low-level optimizations.
- Extend Kong core to support emerging industry trends and use cases.
- Bridge Kong with third-party deployment platforms and tooling.
- Collaborate with the open-source community and write product documentation.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of programming experience with server-side applications and components.
- Experience designing, prototyping, building, and debugging highly scalable, distributed, reliable, and resilient applications.
- Hands-on expertise troubleshooting and profiling Linux systems.
- Experience with distributed systems, the Linux networking stack, and computer systems programming, including L4 and L7 transports and protocols.
- Familiarity with AI LLM concepts and application development.
- Ability to work effectively with a remotely distributed team and communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
- Strong ownership and communication skills.
