Base Salary
$220k - $303k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale recommendation systems for connecting new users with communities and content.
- Develop cold-start personalization approaches using limited new-user signals.
- Build and deploy ML models that improve new-user retention, including user and server embedding foundations.
- Take ML systems from ideation to production with feature pipelines, model serving, monitoring, and online experimentation.
- Collaborate with the cross-functional Onboarding squad to shape the roadmap and balance experimentation with scalable system design.
- Serve as the ML voice on a cross-functional team and communicate trade-offs, priorities, and progress to stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, or Applied Science, including end-to-end recommendation or personalization systems.
- Hands-on experience with retrieval and ranking pipelines, embedding-based retrieval such as two-tower models, and deep learning models such as transformers and multi-task learning.
- Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
- Experience deploying ML systems at scale, including feature pipelines, model serving, monitoring, and online experimentation.
- Strong product intuition and experience building 0-to-1 ML applications based on user feedback and real-world impact.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working in an ambiguous, cross-functional environment.
- Preferred experience includes cold-start personalization, onboarding, preference elicitation, user representation models, social-graph signals, consumer growth or engagement, large-scale recommendation systems, data infrastructure, distributed computing, or vector search.
