Base Salary

$154k - $217k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead and set direction for future capabilities supporting high-quality wearable devices.
  • Develop APIs in the system-level framework layer for performant use cases.
  • Collaborate with product managers, application and platform engineers, and partners on end-to-end solutions.
  • Debug functional, performance, and stability issues across the software stack.
  • Build on OS internals and set technical direction for significant improvements.
  • Improve team coding and design practices through reviews, readable code, debuggability, and testability.
  • Specify interfaces for new software frameworks and enhance existing frameworks.
  • Participate in design and code reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least five years of software development experience, or a PhD with at least two years of experience.
  • At least three years of experience with operating systems, Android internals, or lower-level frameworks for mobile apps.
  • Experience coding in C++ or Java.
  • Preferred: at least one year of software development experience for mobile platforms such as Android or iOS.
  • Preferred: experience with Android internals, AOSP, Android SDK, Android NDK, Android JNI, Android IPC mechanisms, or Linux OS development.
  • Preferred: experience with low-power-device constraints including power, thermal, memory, and latency considerations.
  • Preferred: experience with Android UI frameworks and services, Android performance tools, and security models.
  • Preferred: ongoing AI skill development, responsible and ethical AI practices, and integrating AI tools to improve workflows.
